Ten Shillings Pennsylvania of March 16, 1785, #2199 Colonial Currency
Commonwealth of Pennsylvania. March 16, 1785. Ten Shillings. Choice Fine.
Fr. PA-270. This is a solid, complete and whole example of this scarce, very late Pennsylvania issue. There are four full margins and this note shows even circulation wear for the grade. Even so, it is above average in that the watermark in the paper, PENSYL - VANIA. A very scarce Ten Shillings denomination, specially in this whole and solid grade, which is missing in most collections. The current Newman reference book on page 363, lists a value of $800 in Fine and of $1,250 in Very Fine condition.
