Small European Strap Iron Over Wood Casket/Chest, #779 Treasure Artifacts

A wonderful small European strap iron over wood casket/chest, circa. 17th - early 18th century. 9.25" wide X 4.75" deep X 6" high. A single front hasp locks the dome shaped lid and the front (down folding) face concealing a hidden lower drawer and the upper compartment. The chest is in untouched/uncleaned condition w/minor loses and deterioration from years of handling. The thin strap iron is embossed w/decorative scrolling designs and is applied over an age weathered red velvet over a wood base. A great little chest !
