Very Rare Antique Dutch Navy Flintlock Service Pistol, circa. 1804-1805. 8", .69 cal. round steel barrel engraved on the top of the breech with the Dutch Naval 'Crossed Anchors', a small date of '1823' or '1825' and 'JA' PROOF mark. Lock is stamped w/a 'CROWN' over 'S' over '23' or '25' (date mark of 1823 or 1825). Brass furniture includes; trigger guard, side plate and butt plate; steel barrel band all stamped with inspector's marks. Stock is solid with a small chip missing from in front of the lock mortise; scratches and dings from years of service. Original flint. Interesting form of steel ram rod w/ball end. 14.5" overall length.

Note; The Dutch Military copied many of the French Military patterns. This example is an almost mirror copy of the French Model 'An 13' flintlock pistol made between 1804-1805.
