French Military Model 1822 Percussion Service Pistol, Maubeuge Arsenal, #2423 Firearms

A French Military Model 1822 Percussion Service Pistol made at the Maubeuge Arsenal, circa. 1840's-50's. 7. 3/4" .69 cal. octagon-to-round iron barrel struck w/multiple Arsenal and inspector's marks, tang engraved; ' Mle 1822 bis ', left side of breech #874. Lock marked; ' Manuf. Roy. de Maubeuge', and, an inspector's stamp. Regulation brass and iron furniture stamped w/arsenal and inspector's marks. Stock is solid w/minor spot stains, dings, scratches from years of handling, left side stamped; w/multiple arsenal and inspector's marks, 'MUTZIG', #874. Original ram rod. A nice dark and dirty example in good working order.
