Fine English Silver Mounted Flintlock Pistol by; JOHN SMITH, LONDINI (LONDON), c.1687. 9.25", .67 cal. two stage round steel barrel w/slight remnants of original blue, gold touch hole and struck w/(2) Tower private proofs; an oval w/"CROWN" over "C P", an oval w/"CROWN" over "V" an unidentified barrel maker mark and engraved on top flat; "I (J) SMITH LONDINI". John Smith was gunmaker to the Hudsons Bay Company. Wonderful silver furniture. The silver butt cap has a fantastic grotesque mask. 16" overall length. In good working order. Stock is solid w/silver wire inlay, (100% intact). A silver crest of:
Head of an Heraldic Antelope transfixed through the mouth with a downward-pointing Arrow through Garter's Ordinaries (a collection of pen and ink drawings of Arms and Crests arranged by design) and found;
