A Fantastic Antique French Military Model 1733 Heavy Dragoon Flintlock Holster Pistol, c.1733 of the French and Indian War - American Revolutionary War Period. 12.5" .72 cal. steel barrel. Steel lock with remnants of arsenal maker's marks (hard to make out). Brass regulation furniture has a very pleasing mustard patina. 19.5" overall length. The stock is solid with a chip missing from the left side of the barrel tang and from the left side at muzzle; some interesting roman numerals cut on the back of wrist and unidentified marks in front of the trigger guard finial; scratches, some age cracks and dings from years of service. Original belt hook. The pistol is in its original flintlock configuration and in good mechanical working order.
Note: The stock has a replaced/restored spliced in piece of wood just above the rear of lock plate (see photos).
