$ 6,500.00

A Wonderful Antique Cased Pair of English Flintlock Box-Lock Pistol by HEYLIN, LONDON, circa. 1765-1775; Cased, circa. 1795-1821.  Pistols are near identical with subtle differences in size.  2" & 2.25", .45 cal. turn-off steel multi-stage barrels with cannon muzzles.  Steel box-lock frames are marked with the early TOWER PROOFS; decorative engraving depicting panoply of arms and maker's name 'HEYLIN' and 'CORNHILL, LONDON'.  The bag shaped wood stocks are solid; one with some deeper scratches; the other with light scratches and dings from years of handling.  Both pistols are in their original flintlock configuration and are in good mechanical working order.  Each pistol is 7.5" overall.

Note; One pistol is near mint condition (the exception is the marred stock); the other pistol has areas of salt & pepper pitting and is slightly smaller than the other.  It possible that one pistol was lost and replaced with another which may account for one being in much better condition than the other ?
