An Antique Civil War Period Belgian Made Single-Shot Percussion Side-Hammer Box-Lock Pocket Pistol, circa. 1840's. 4 3/8" .42 caliber iron octagon turn-off barrel. The barrel was removed from the frame by inserting a barrel key in the muzzle to unscrew when loading. Iron Box-lock frame marked on the left side with "E/LG *" (LIEGE, BELGIUM) with simple decorative scroll engraving. The one-piece wood bag-shaped grip stock is solid with a vacant silver oval wrist escutcheon, minimal light scratches and dings from years of handling. The action need attention. A good pistol for display !
NOTE - The mainspring is good however the tumbler notches have worn down over the years and need to be restored. The hammer will not hold on half or full cock. Priced accordingly.
