An Antique Victorian Period Miniature Suit of Armor, made circa. 19th - early 20th century
An Antique Victorian Period Miniature Suit of Armor. 14” tall overall. Very good quality armor in the style of the late 16th century, made circa. 19th - early 20th century. The suit stands on a square wood plinth. The Victorian period (1837-1901) had a huge Gothic revival for interior décor for the wealthy. Mansions and castles were decorated with all sorts of medieval weapons and suits of armor of all sizes. Original antique arms & armor were in short supply resulting in a few companies producing very high quality copies to fill the demand which are now very collectible antiques. The metal has a dark brown rust age patina. A great little suit of armor ready for display.
NOTE: The miniature suit of armor had a sword but it is now missing.
