Antique European (maybe Swiss) Short Sword, circa. early 19th century.  20.25" double-edge blade.  Solid brass one-piece guard with grip has a dark yellow to olive color age patina and is stamped "251".  The blade exhibits sword blade impact marks.  No scabbard.

Note; The form is similar to the ancient Roman Gladius sword.
