An Antique Revolutionary War-War of 1812 period English/American Long Flintlock Fowler/Musket
An Antique Revolutionary War-War of 1812 period English/American Long Flintlock Fowler/Musket, circa. 1770-1820's. 45.75", .65 caliber smooth-bore barrel with (2) early "CROSSED SEPTER" Proof Marks struck on the left side of the breech. Lock has simple decorative engraving and maker signed "I. P. MOORE", "WARRANTED". Brass furniture. Steel ram rod. The stock is solid with scratches and dings from years of service.
NOTE: It is our opinion that the lock was replaced during the period of use (circa. 1820). The fore-end from the front of the lock forward has been replaced at some point in time and it is very hard to detect.
I. P. MOORE is listed in New York in the 1820's.
