A really good American Colonial captured American Revolutionary War period British Military Brass Barrel Flintlock Blunderbuss, circa. 1740-1760. 17” brass multi-stage cannon muzzle Blunderbuss Barrel with Proof marks struck on the left side of breech. All brass furniture. The British markings on the lock were intentionally removed after capture by American forces during the Revolutionary War. The lock originally had a CROWN over GR (King George II), the name of the contractor and the date the lock was made. The stock was cracked at the wrist and on the left side of fore-end and repaired during the period of use. A minor chip of wood is missing from the upper rear of the lock mortise, light scratches and dings from years of service. The Blunderbuss is in its original Flintlock configuration and is in good mechanical working order. The wood ram rod is an old replacement. A great piece of American Colonial History...TTI-516619Ref: GBPSQQQA19
