A Very Good antique Civil War Period French Military Model 1840 Percussion Musket. These muskets were imported by the North and the South for the Civil War. 40.5", .69 caliber smooth-bore barrel. All steel furniture. Back-action percussion lock. The stock is solid with light scratches and dings from years of handling. A great example in good mechanical working order.
Note; This musket was acquired in the 20th century by MGM Motion Picture Studios, Hollywood to be used as a movie prop (see photos).
