A Large Antique 17th Century European Pewter Urn or Trophy, Dated 1649. The removable lid depicts a gentleman dressed in 17th century clothing holding a flag. The underside of the lid has (3) unidentified makers' marks (researching). The body of the urn is engraved in writing "BARTELT BOSKE BARTELS SOEN ANNO 1649", has an unidentified coat-of-arms, and a pictorial scene of a group of men and women on a small boat with a sail. This type was used throughout Europe and the New World Colonial America.
Measures: 6.25 in diameter x 21.5" high (without the flag).
