An Antique French Double Barrel Flintlock Pistol by, DAUPHINE, TULLE circa. mid 18th century. 6" .57 cal. round steel side-by-side barrels engraved with gold overlay (approx. 30% remaining), dark rust age patina. Shaped steel furniture. Both round faced locks are signed "Dauphine" and "Tulle". The pistol is in its original flintlock configuration. Stock is solid w/high relief decorative carving around barrel tang, lock mortise, trigger guard, and ram rod pipe, normal scratches and dings from years of handling. In good mechanical working order. Steel tip wood ram rod. 11.5" overall length.
Note: Both cocks (hammers) have been replaced with later 18th century English cocks.
