A Good Antique Colonial English Brass Barrel Flintlock Blunderbuss Pistol by; WW MASON, circa. 1740-1775. 8" brass octagon-to-round-to-cannon blunderbuss muzzle barrel struck w/(2) PROOFS on the left side of beech. Lock w/decorative engraving and maker signed; WW MASON. Brass furniture includes nice open worked sideplate and grotesque mask butt cap. Stock is solid w/very nice relief carving around the barrel tang, w/restoration located under the lock plate where the stock broke, a segment of wood was restored during the period on the upper edge of the right fore-end; scratches and dings from years of service. In good working order. 14.25" overall.
