A Rare British Military Royal Navy EAST INDIA COMPANY Long Sea Service Flintlock Pistol, circa. 1780-1810. 12", .577 cal. (regulation) round steel barrel marked w/remnants of (2) Private Tower proofs. Lock marked; w/the "Rampant East India Co. LION" holding the "CROWN", a small "CROWN" over "3"(East India Company Inspector). All steel parts have salt and pepper pitting (some areas worse than others). Brass regulation furniture. Stock is missing some chips from around the lock mortise; is solid w/ normal scratches and dings from years of service. Stock is marked; w/remnants of (2) inspectors marks just above the trigger guard on the wrist, a stores keeper mark; "The East India Company Quartered Heart; 4 over V E I C" is just above the tail of the lock plate. The stock has normal scratches and dings from years of service. Belt hook is missing. Letter replaced wood ram rod. 19.5" overall length. A Rare untouched example in good working order.
