British Military Contract Light Dragoon Flintlock Pistol, KETLAND & Co, #766 Firearms
A good British Military contract Light Dragoon flintlock pistol by; "KETLAND & Co.", circa. 1780. 9", .65 cal. (carbine bore) round steel barrel w/(3) partially visible Tower proofs at the breech. Brass regulation furniture. Lock marked; a "CROWN" over "GR" (King George III) and "KETLAND & Co." The stock is missing some chips out from around the pins and the under side of the fore-end has been restored at some point with the replacement of an American style entry ram-rod pipe. The pistol is in uncleaned "out-of-the-attic" condition. The brass has a pleasing olive color. The steel parts have a thick brown/black rust age patina. In good working order. 15.5" overall length. A good Light Dragoon flint pistol that may have seen service during the American Revolutionary War.
