Antique Belgian Military Flintlock Pistol
An Antique Belgian Military Flintlock Pistol, circa. 1790-1830. 9", .70 caliber steel smooth-bore barrel. Standard brass furniture. Round face lock plate. The cock is a replacement. The pistol is in its original flintlock configuration. The stock has been repaired through the middle and at the muzzle (see photos). This pattern was intentionally made without a ram rod. The stock is stable with scratches and dings from years of service. A good example for display in good mechanical working order.
Note: Some references claim these pistols were made for the Navy and for private sale to merchant vessels and militia units.
