A Wonderful High Quality Revolutionary War Period Antique British/American Flintlock Brass Barrel & Lock Flintlock Pistol with silver and steel furniture by KETLAND & Co., circa. 1765-1770's.  8", .58 cal brass octagon-to-round barrel engraved 'LONDON' on the top flat; (2) early crossed scepter PROOFS.  Brass lock plate maker engraved 'KETLAND & Co.'.  Silver side plate, butt cap, and wrist escutcheon in the shape of a shield.  Steel ram rod pipes and engraved steel trigger guard with Pineapple finial.  Stock is solid with fine checkered grip, carved raised scallop shell around the engraved steel barrel tang; some wood worming at muzzle, scratches and dings from years of handling.  The pistol is in it's original flintlock configuration and is in good mechanical working order.  A beautiful pistol of classic form.
