A Very Good antique Civil War SHARPS & HANKINS, Philadelphia Percussion Navy breech-loading Carbine made between 1862-1865. SN#10085 Total quantity of Navy Carbines produced (6,686). . 52 cal., 24" barrel, with leather covering as protection against rusting. Approx. 95% of the leather wrap remains in good condition (many examples are encountered with just remnants of the leather wrap remaining). The stock is solid with scratches and dings from service and generous amounts of original varnish. A great example in good mechanical working order.
