A Small Silver Crucifix Made From Atocha Shipwreck Silver. Mel Fisher and Treasure Salvors, Inc. decided to cut the top off of one of the 80+ pound silver ingots recovered from the Nuestra Senora De Atocha that sank in a violent hurricane in 1622. The top of the silver bar has all the important markings was sold and the balance of the bar was then melted down and reproduction coins and jewelry were produced and this crucifix is one of them. These reproductions were plentiful in the late 1980's - early 1990's but supply has dried up over the years.
The crucifix measures: 1.5" high x 1" wide.
