A Rare Antique German 17th Century "SHOT-PROOF" Weight Breastplate, circa. 1650-1680. Pronounced medial-rib and shallow "V" shaped waistline, struck at the lower end of its medial-rib with the PROOF-MARK of a musket ball. Blackened overall. In good condition for the age.
PROVENANCE: From the Armoury of Archduke Eugen, Fortress Hohenwerfen Salzburg, Austria. Sold through Anderson Galleries, New York 1st-5th of March, 1927, Lot. 937
