A (PAIR) of Antique EDO PERIOD Samurai Armored Foot Stirrups (Abumi), circa. 18th century. Iron construction with sections of wood inserts covered in black lacquer mixed with decorative mother-of-pearl and copper; internals foot rests painted red. All parts are original with heavy oxidation, lacquer flaking, loses but good considering the age. One stirrup has an unidentified paste label (see photo). A nice decorative pair of stirrups.
