A Fine IRISH Half Stock Percussion Hunting Rifle by TRULOCK, DUBLIN
A Fine Half Stock Percussion single-shot Hunting Rifle by TRULOCK, DUBLIN, circa. 1845. 27", .52 caliber octagon rifled barrel with engraved patent breech with exceptionally long tang, (3) platinum bands at breech, engraved "Dublin" on the top flat in front of the long range rear sight. The back-action lock has decorative engraving and maker name "TRULOCK". All steel furniture with decorative engraving has a deep chocolate color age patina. The stock is solid with an age crack on the right side of fore-end where the stock terminates at the horn fore-end cap, checkered wrist, inlaid with a patch box, light scratches and dings from years of handling. The stock retains the original varnish. 43" overall length. A very nice example in good mechanical working order.
Note; The barrel is missing (2) wedge-type sights on the top flat, (can be replaced).
