Famous Americans Portraits, Including Daniel Boone & Brigham Young. c. 1862-1903, Lot of 5 Portrait Prints of Famous Americans, Including Robert Livingston, Philip Schuyler, Brigham Young and Daniel Boone, Steel Engravings, Mezzotint and 1 Photogravure, Mostly Extremely Fine.. These prints are all one sided plates, apparently removed from books, ranging in size from 4” x 4” to 11” x 8,” all suitable for framing and display. 1. & 2. ROBERT LIVINGSTON, a large size unsigned steel engraving published by Johnson, Fry & Company and dated 1862; also a smaller photogravure print from a painting by Pratt after the original by Gilbert Stuart. 3. PHILIP SCHUYLER, unsigned steel engraving published by Mason Brothers of New York. 4. BRIGHAM YOUNG, mezzotint print probably from a photograph. 5. KENTUCKY PIONEERS, 3 portraits on 1 plate, mezzotint prints from paintings, of Daniel Boone, Isaac Shelby (first governor of Kentucky), and Simon Kenton, published by G. Barrie & Sons and dated 1903. This print is in excellent condition, protected by tissue, with the Boone portrait in green and the others in brown. A great group of portraits which would display well. (5 items)..
