1804-1805, Receipts for the Newburyport Turnpike
. 1804-1805, Receipts for the Construction of the Newburyport Turnpike, Lot of 3, Choice Very Fine.. Partially printed and Manuscript Documents, from the Newburyport Bank, acknowledging payment to “R.L.E. Kimball,” for “Making part of Said Turnpike”. Kimball signs one of the receipts, and Walter Waldo signs another. Apparently the firm of “Prince & Young” handled some of the payments on behalf of the Newburyport Turnpike Corporation. Ranging in size from 2.5” x 3.25” to 3” x 7”, the fine-laid documents--for $500 and $300--are in very fine condition. The engraved Newburyport Bank pay order is affixed to the receipt signed by Kimball, but the Waldo receipt is separate. (3 items).
