A Fine Large Italian Flintlock Holster Pistol, c. 1690-1720.  13.25", .58 cal. octagon-to-round-to-round slightly swamped steel barrel with areas of decorative worked brass inlays and a Silver high-relief cameo of a person's bust (worn).  The pistol is in its original flintlock configuration.  The lock has decorative engraving to match the barrel with a beveled edge.  The fantastic all brass furniture is worked and engraved en-suite with the trigger guard, long-eared butt cap, and side plate having applied Silver high-relief human busts.  The pistol had a belt hook at one time.  High quality "root" wood or high quality figured walnut full stock with original varnish has high-relief boarder carving and patterned around the barrel tang, lock mortis, trigger guard, ram rod pipes, and side plate.  The stock has some loses around the bottom section of the butt cap area and exhibits evidence of breaking just in front of the trigger guard and then mended.  There are some age cracks and loses along the upper left side edge of the barrel channel otherwise, now solid with scratches and dings from years of handling.  Full length wood ram rod.   The pistol is in good mechanical working order.   A beautiful flintlock holster pistol !

MEASURES - 20.25"

NOTE - The pistol has an old applied paper seal visible on the right side of the grip.
