A Good PAIR of Pistol Saddle Holsters

$ 1,250.00

A Good PAIR of Pistol Saddle Holsters, circa. 18th century.  Holsters are missing the covers.  Each pistol bucket has provisions to hold (4) pre-measured paper cartridges for a total of (8) cartridges at the ready and each measures 13" to the tip.  Brass end caps with decorative finials.  The leather has areas of crazing, flaking and loses but stable.  These saddle holsters are considered very rare because of the materials they are made of and the survival rate is very low.

Note; Almost every person of the day had a horse (if they could afford it) and would have a saddle with a pair of saddle holsters for pistols for protection or for military use.
