Ex. Rare Massive Dutch Military Flintlock Pistol, circa. 1675

$ 4,500.00

An Ex. Rare Massive Antique Dutch Military Flintlock Pistol, circa. 1675.  14 1/8", .64 cal. octagon-to-multi sided-to-round steel barrel struck with (7) fantastic proof/inspector marks at the breech and (1) on the end of the tang.  Round faced banana shape lock struck with (2) unidentified maker's marks.  The pistol is in its original flintlock configuration.  Simple steel furniture.  Stock is stable with too many period repairs to mention (see photos); 'Z Z' (Zeeland, is the westernmost province of the Netherlands) stamped on the top of wrist; left side stamped with the British Tower of London Arsenal Stores mark (captured or purchased for the British Military before they had established patterns).  21.25" overall length.  A wonderful pistol that clearly saw a lot of action in good mechanical working order.

Note: The stock is stable and exhibits the largest amount of period repairs we have ever encountered which adds a wonderful charm and proof that they did not waste anything. This pistol has seen a tremendous amount of service.  This pistol may have seen most if not all the major historical events in Colonial America.
