A Massive Antique German or Dutch/American Colonial Flintlock Pistol, circa. 1720/1780. 8.75" .72 cal. round iron barrel (reduced during the period of use), w/unidentified regimental marks (c.1720's), (1) English PROOF mark; a 'CROWN' over 'V'(c.1770's). 5.75" French Military Small Musket Size Replacement Lock (c.1777-1780) marked; ' M Imp. D Tulle '. Stock is solid (reduced during it's working life w/addition of shaped horn fore-end cap), w/scratches and dings from years of service. Heavy brass furniture. 16.25" overall length. In good working order.
Note; It is our opinion that this pistol was modified/re-worked during the American Revolutionary War or War of 1812 in the Colonies due to the extremely high demand for serviceable weapons...
