British/American Import Flintlock Militia/Service Pistol, #2951 Firearms
A Massive British/American Import Flintlock Militia/Service Pistol, circa. 1780-1800. 9" .67 cal.(Carbine bore) round steel barrel. Brass furniture. Unmarked barrel and lock. Most likely made by Thomas Ketland. Stock has some chips missing from the upper rear of the lock mortise; has a stress crack at the rear of the ram rod pipe, otherwise, solid w/scratches and dings from years of service. In good mechanical working order.

PISTOL #1; marked at the breech; 'TK'(Thomas Ketland ?), an indistinct 'CROWN' over 'GR', a 'CROWN' over ?, and an inspector's mark of; a 'CROWN' over '9'. Plain flat musket size lock(6. 3/8") stamped w/an unidentified crest in front of the cock. Brass Regulation/pattern furniture w/trigger-guard marked; "74". Steel ram-rod. All steel parts have salt and pepper pitting.
PISTOL #2; unmarked barrel and lock. Trigger-guard marked; "68". Wood ram-rod.
Both pistol stocks are solid w/scratches and dings from years of service, in good working order. A very interesting PAIR/BRACE of flintlock service pistols.
