A Rare Antique Shell Hilt Cutlass Sword, circa. 1640-1680. Exceptionally long 35" curved single-fuller blade, double-edged toward the point. Iron hilt comprising single flat down-turned quillon w/rounded end joined by a fluted shell guard, opposite a smaller fluted shell complete connecting to the pommel, thumb-ring, a round shapped pommel, and the grip retaining its original spiral-twisted and braided steel wire binding w/"Turks Heads". 41" overall length.
