All of the “Views of San Francisco” Staffordshire Flow Blue Plates that were made by Rowland and Marsellus. This example with the “Golden Gate and Entrance to San Francisco Bay” is one of the Rarest to find. This Golden Gate Staffordshire Plate measures 10.25” in diameter. It features the Golden Gate Entrance into the Bay, and please note that the Golden Gate Bridge, which was opened in 1937, had not yet been built. Along the outside edge of this plate are vignettes of the other landmarks of San Francisco including the Post Office, Music Stand and Mission Dolores. This original historic plate is in very good original condition with an expected a fine craze surface with one tight hairline to the edge and no other issues or any repairs.
