A Good Antique U.S. Military Model 1836 Flintlock Service Pistol by; 'R. JOHNSON, MIDDN. CONN. 1841'. 8.5" .54 cal. round iron barrel stamped at breech w/inspector's marks; 'J H', w/brass blade front sight. 14" overall length. Lock stamped w/maker's mark below 'U S', inspector's mark, original flintlock configuration. Captive ram rod. Stock has 2 clear inspector's cartouches stamped on the left side of stock at the rear of side plate; is solid w/scratches and dings from years of service. A nice uncleaned example in good working order.
