A Fine and Rare ROYAL silver mounted hunting short sword/trouse, of Royalty circa, 18th century. Belong to; Duke of Brunswick and Wolfenbuttel Charles William Ferdinand, 1780-1806. 25.75" overall. 20" blued steel and mercury gilded etched/engraved blade. Solid Silver hilt with finger counter guard, fantastic Lion head pommel with matching cub heads on quillion and side knife and fork. Engraved Crowned Monogram 'C W F' (Charles William Ferdinand, GERMAN: Karl Wilhelm Ferdinand).

Silver HALLMARK: 'I.G over M' (Halberstadt, John Gottlieb Meinecke, c.1778, Ref. Wolfgang Scheffler, Alte deutche Stadtpunzen. Also, a 'Tree & N'; and engraved; on the counter guard; 'W33 Coth' (Regimental mark?).

SCABBARD; Leather w/Silver Fittings. Throat has pockets for matching side knife and fork. Knife has illegible Hallmark. Belt hook is on the outside.
