A Good English Small Sword (Rapier) circa, 1680-1750. 28.75" double edge blade w/a 6" central fuller just under the hilt extending down on both sides of blade w/remnants of maker's name. Original wood grip; missing the original twisted brass wire 'Turk's Heads' and binding portion of the grip. Brass guard, ricasso, pommel, pas d' ane and counterguard; hand guard/knuckle bow has broken off during the period of use. A very interesting sword type used in the French and Indian and the American Revolutionary War. Missing scabbard.
