Antique European Military Flintlock Holster Pistol
An Antique European Military Flintlock Holster Pistol (most likely German/Austrian), circa. early 19th Century. 9.5", .68 caliber steel smooth-bore barrel. The pistol is in its original flintlock configuration. All brass furniture just like the Austrian military model 1798 (some parts with inspector marks). The stock is solid with light scratches and dings from years of handling. The pistol is 16.5" overall. A great looking pistol in good mechanical working order.
Note: The fore-end exhibits a marriage of wood. It is my opinion that the pistol was made this way or it is a very early repair made during the period. I have examined at least 3 other pistols with stocks made in of two pieces.
