A Rare Antique American US Navy Model 1808 Contract Flintlock Ship's Pistol with belt hook by, "S. NORTH, BERLIN, CON.", TOTAL produced; 3,000, circa.1808-1810. 9 7/8" .68 cal. round iron unmarked barrel. Lock marked with the "AMERICAN FEDERAL EAGLE", "U. STATES", "S. NORTH, BERLIN, CON." Standard brass furniture for the pattern. The stock is solid with an age crack just behind the rear of lock plate and another that runs through the lower portion of butt at the brass butt cap otherwise, light scratches and dings from years of service. Some light salt & pepper rust pitting in areas. A very rare US flintlock martial pistol in good mechanical working order. 16.75" overall.
