An Antique European Elliptical Brass Barrel Box-lock Flintlock Pistol
An Antique European (most likely French) Elliptical Brass Barrel Box-lock Flintlock Pistol, circa. 1780-1800. 4" elliptical brass blunderbuss barrel. The pistol originally made with a spring bayonet (now missing). No maker marks or proofs. Top mounted sliding safety. Interesting animal face butt cap. The pistol is in its original flintlock configuration. The bottom flat portion of the cock that holds the flint has broken off but can still function. 8.25" overall length. The round face wood grip stock is solid with light scratches and dings from years of handling and the lock is in good mechanical working order.
Note: this pistol can be restored.
