A Very Fine Antique War of 1812 Period All Steel Box-Lock Tap-Action Double Barrel Flint Pistol by, J & W RICHARDS, LONDON, circa. 1810.  3 6/8", .42 caliber double side-by-side round smooth-bore barrel with engraved muzzles, breech stamped with (2) oval proof marks and barrel makers mark.  The left side of the frame has a barrel selector lever (Tap-Action).  Steel trigger guard and top mounted sliding safety.  The pistol is in its original flintlock configuration.    9" overall length.  The wood stock has a sterling silver shield shaped wrist escutcheon inlay engraved with the owner's initials "H R".  Overall, the stock is solid with light scratches and dings from years of handling.  In good mechanical working order.  An awesome flintlock pistol in wonderful condition !
