An Interesting Early 18th Century European Flintlock Holster Pistol, circa. 1690 - 1730.  13.5", .62 cal. worked steel barrel with a fantastic silver 'RAMPANT LION' and silver front sight.  The lock is deeply engraved with decorative scrolls and a LION (the top of the frizzen has been chipped).  Fantastic worked and engraved brass furniture includes a LION on the trigger guard bow, an open work side plate featuring a LION, and a royal crown over a shield escutcheon (vacant).  The stock is solid with decorative raised carving; several small period repairs, stress cracks, dings and scratches.  20.5" overall length.  Wood ram rod.  The pistol is in its original flintlock configuration.  A very interesting holster pistol that has seen a lot of action but has a great look !

Note; the touch hole is excessively large exhibiting the result of being fired hundreds of times.
