A Very Fine Silver Mounted Early 20th Century Dagger, #786 Edged Weapons
A very fine silver mounted dagger, circa. 20th century. 6.5" double edge blade. Steel guard. Silver pommel and silver, wood, and ivory segments make up the grip. The scabbard has a silver formed drag tip, silver throat w/suspension ring. Just under the throat is a decorated brass section w/an applied silver decorative escutcheon of a grotesque mask surrounded by raised foliage and scrolls. Segmented by another silver band, the remaining section is covered in leather w/another small silver mask of a Lion's head. 13.25" overall length. In excellent condition. A very fine example that may have been in WW I or II.
