A Very Interesting Massive European Flintlock Holster Pistol, RESTORED

A Very Interesting Massive Antique European (possibly Dutch or German ?) Flintlock Holster Pistol, c. 1740-1770.  13", .67 caliber smooth-bore steel octagon-to-round barrel struck on the left flat of the breech with an unidentified "PROOF" mark.  The barrel's touch hole has been restored with a brass bushing.  Heavy all brass furniture.   The convex banana shaped lock is unmarked.  The stock has wood restoration on the left side of the barrel tang and has simple incised decorative carving.  The overall stock is solid with scratches and dings from years of handling.  All steel parts have salt & pepper rust pitting.  Wood ram rod with a flat brass tip.  Measures 20.25" overall.  This pistol may have seen action in the French & Indian War - American Revolutionary War and is in good mechanical working order.  A huge flintlock pistol !!!

RESTORATION NOTES:  This pistol has been restored (reconverted back to the flintlock configuration).   The barrel's touch hole has been restored with a brass bushing.  The lock has been restored utilizing original period parts.   The stock has wood restoration on the left side of the barrel tang and has simple incised decorative carving.
