A Fantastic Antique British East India Company Military 3rd Model Brown Bess Flintlock Service Musket Dated 1773. 39", .75 cal. round steel barrel w/(2) large British Royal Armory Tower proofs, a "CROWN" over "4" (inspector mark), light surface porosity in areas. Early 3rd model Lock marked; "HENSHAW", a small "CROWN" over "3" (inspector mark), the date "1773" over the East India Company logo.  The musket is in its original flintlock configuration. Brass regulation furniture. The stock has a repair just above the lock where the cracked piece of wood has been glued and pinned (see photo), is marked with (2) inspectors marks just below the tail of the trigger guard, a small "CROWN" over "7" and some unidentified marks within the ram rod channel, is solid with normal light scratches and dings from years of service and handling. 54.5" overall length. In good working mechanical order and may have seen service in the American Revolutionary War, War of 1812 and the Napoleonic Wars. A very solid example with intriguing markings.
