European 17th Century Military Wheel-lock Pistol
An Antique European Military Wheel-Lock Pistol, circa. 17th century. 19.25", .60 caliber steel octagon to round barrel. Flat steel butt cap and trigger guard. Earlier lock with light rust surface pitting. Stock is solid with light scratches and dings from years of handling. Original period wood ram rod with steel tip (missing roughly 4" in length). Measures: 26.75" overall. A great example in very good condition considering the age.
Note; It is our opinion that the lock is from an earlier pistol and was re-used to make the current example. It was secured to the stock of the earlier pistol by 3 side screws. The center screw hole was filled in when mounting the current example. It was common for gun makers to re-use any available parts especially for the military. The main spring needs to be restored.
