An Extremely Fine English Revolutionary War Period British Brass Barrel Flintlock Blunderbuss by WINFIELD, c. 1775.  14.25" octagon to round to cannon muzzle blunderbuss barrel stamped with (2) crossed scepter proofs on the left flat of breech with engraved iron tang.  All brass furniture includes a convex high relief engraved trigger guard with acorn finial, wonderful wrist escutcheon, engraved flat side plate and upper butt plate finial.  The blunderbuss is in its original flintlock configuration.  The stock has intricate very fine decorative silver wire inlay surrounding the barrel tang in a shell pattern (100% intact !) incorporated in an overall beautiful form with a long stress age crack on the left side of the comb (does not effect the soundness), a few areas where the wood chips were repaired during the period of use and is solid with light scratches and dings from years of handling.  Original horn tipped wood ram rod with worm.  30.25" overall length.  A fantastic looking ship's or coaching blunderbuss in good mechanical working order.

NOTE: This is a rare highly ornate blunderbuss at the zenith of form.  A true rarity is fantastic condition.
