An Interesting Early Antique French Medium Size Flintlock Holster Pistol

An Interesting Early Antique French Medium Size Flintlock Holster Pistol, circa.1670-1690. 10", .56 caliber octagon-to-round steel barrel.  The early form lock has decorative engraving and is maker signed "MAZAD IAYNE, TULLE".  All brass furniture includes an angry mans face.  The pistol is in its original flintlock configuration.  17" overall length.  The wood stock has nice decorative carving around all parts, chips missing from the lower edge of the lock mortise, some stress cracks, light scratches and dings from years of handling.  Wood ram rod is an older replacement.   

Notes on condition: the right side of the long eared brass but cap is cracked through and there is a dent on the bottom.

NOTE: The maker could be Jean Mazard, Tulle 1680-91.
