An Antique American Half Stock Percussion Rifle

$ 0.00

An Antique American Half Stock Percussion Rifle, circa. 1840-1860.  35.75", .30 caliber steel octagon rifled barrel marked "A. W." on the top flat near breech.  Unmarked flat lock plate with remnants of a dog running.  The stock is of beautiful tiger maple and is stable with a restoration where it broke through just in front of the trigger guard.  Some wood lose just in front of the lock plate on the upper edge.  There is an open age crack following the grain of the wood on the left side of the stock near the lock retaining screw.  Otherwise the stock has nice form with scratches and dings from years of handling.  Brass furniture includes a fine patch box.  Set triggers.  Pewter fore-end cap.  Replacement wood ram rod.  51.25" overall length.  The rifle is in good mechanical working order.  A good looking example ready for display.
