A Fantastic Antique German Flintlock Holster Pistol by, GEORG ADAM MANN, IN EBERSCHWANG, circa. 1670-1700. 13.5" steel barrel with beautiful sculpted and engraved areas; "GEORG ADAM MANN IN EBERSCHWANG" on top flat; inlaid silver front sight. The pistol is in it's original flintlock configuration. The Lock is profusely engraved with scenes of riders on horse and maker signed "GEORG ADAM MANN IN EBERSCHWANG". Engraved gilded brass furniture featuring a long eared butt cap depicting battle scenes and an angry man face; engraved trigger guard and ram rod pipes; open worked royal wrist escutcheon; and a wonderful openwork side plate depicting a Lion pulling and sled. The high quality wood stock is solid with a few hairline stress cracks in the grain; decorative relief carving and a horn fore-end muzzle cap or nose. This pistol is of the finest quality and was made for someone of importance, possibly royalty. 20.5" overall. The pistol is all original with no restoration or replacement parts and is in good mechanical working order. A spectacular specimen worthy of any Museum...
